Currently we are trying to determine the change in the mutual inductance  of the two coils when the applied pressure changes the distance between the two coils as shown in the figure.

After determining the change in mutual inductance, we plan to create an array of coils as shown in the figure. The coil array will capture the applied pressure and after necessary signal processing, we will be able to determine the movement, shape, and rigidness of the object in contact with the sensor array.
